The 6 ft extension cord that shows you what it's going through.
Built-in display · status lights · hand-replaceable ground prong
See volts, amps and watts live, so you know the load on your cord.
Tells you to stop and unplug if the plug gets too hot inside.
A 0–100 score that drops with overloads, overheating, voltage faults and plug cycles.
Plug cycles and event totals that can't be reset, plus a rolling event history.
Replace the ground prong in seconds, not the whole cord.

Our devices, homes and appliances all got smarter. The cord powering them stayed blind.
B.IR.T is changing that.
Every overload. Every surge of heat. Every time it's plugged in and pulled out. An ordinary cord takes all of it in silence, and you only find out when something goes wrong.
So we gave it a voice.
Plug it into a standard grounded outlet. The home screen and status light show where things stand.
Press ▲ or ▼ to see watts, volts and amps as they happen.
The score starts at 100 and drops with recorded stress. The light shows green, yellow or red, and the screen gives a status and a short recommendation.
Overload or overheating shows STOP USE; outlet-voltage problems show CHECK CORD. Press SET to acknowledge. The event still counts.
Alerts stay on screen until you press SET. It monitors and warns; it does not switch off power by itself.

Ordinary cords leave you guessing.
Smart Cord Guardian gives you information.
The real screen layout and button logic. This demo starts with a sample cord that has already been plugged in and unplugged 142 times, so its score starts just under 100. Set off an event and watch the score and the record change.
Starting up…
Counters can't be reset. Acknowledging an alert hides it, but the event, its history entry and its score deduction stay.
Simulated device with sample data. Screens, buttons and alerts follow the B.IR.T display guide; score changes follow our V1 scoring specification. Readings are examples.
Replace the ground prong in seconds. Our patent-pending prong unscrews by hand and threads back in. No tools, and no need to throw out the cord.
Unplug from power before replacing the ground prong.

“I’m Blake Robert McAffee, founder of B.IR.T Technology. What began as an idea on a napkin became a mission: give people a clearer understanding of the cords they rely on. Smart Cord Guardian is the next step in that journey.”
The journey behind the invention: From the Napkin to the Factory.
Some people plug it in and never think about it again. Others want to know. They check the outlet, glance at the cord behind the TV, and notice when something seems off. If that's you, you're not paranoid. You're paying attention. The Smart Cord Guardian shows you what your cord is going through, so when it tells you to stop, you can act.
This one's for you.
A complete 6 ft extension cord with the Smart Cord Guardian built into the plug: the display, status lights, buttons and the hand-replaceable ground prong.
No. Everything is on the device itself. There's no app, no Wi-Fi and no account to set up.
Standard 120 V North American outlets. It has a three-prong NEMA 5-15 plug.
No. There's no way to clear it from the device. Two things are stored. Lifetime counters (total plug/unplug cycles, and totals for overcurrent, overheating and voltage events) can't be reset. Separately, the device keeps a history of individual events. It's designed to hold at least 500, and when that storage is full, the oldest records are overwritten by new ones.
▲ and ▼ move between screens: Protection, Cord Health, Power Use, Recent Events, Cord Life and Event Log. Press SET to acknowledge an alert. Hold SET for 3 seconds to return to the Protection home screen; after 30 seconds without a button press it returns there on its own.

Unplug the cord from power first. Then unscrew it by hand and thread in a new one. Spare prongs are sold as a 2-pack in our store.
It starts at 100 and only goes down. Each plug-in and unplug takes off a tiny amount. Overloads, overheating and outlet-voltage problems take off more, depending on how severe they are and how long they last. Green (100–61) is good. Yellow (60–31) is a warning: stress or a fault was detected, so check the log. Red (30–0) is unsafe: replace the cord. The light also turns yellow if the device can't trust its own readings.
No. It monitors and warns you with its lights and display. It does not switch off power by itself.
Not yet. The Smart Cord Guardian has not been certified. We'll post any listing here when it is.
No product can guarantee that. The Smart Cord Guardian shows what's happening in your cord and warns you when something looks wrong, so you can act early. Always follow safe cord practices.
